The International Cricket Council is the global governing body for the sport. The ICC Development Department’s role is to advance and strengthen the development of cricket throughout its 95 Associate and Affiliate Member countries. We are currently looking for a Global Development Manager (GDM) who will lead the ICC Development Department. The position is based at the ICC’s global headquarters in Global Development Manager

* The International Cricket Council is the global governing body for the sport. The ICC Development Department’s role is to advance and strengthen the development of cricket throughout its 95 Associate and Affiliate Member countries. We are currently looking for a Global Development Manager (GDM) who will lead the ICC Development Department. The position is based at the ICC’s global headquarters in Dubai and reports to the GM Cricket.

The GDM is responsible for the development and implementation of the Pepsi ICC Development Programme throughout the 95 Associate and Affiliate members. The Programme’s activities are funded to the tune of about US$300 million over eight years from 2009 to 2016. He is also a key member of the ICC Management Team.

Main job duties/responsibilities:
• Develop the strategy and implementation plan for the ICC’s Development activities;
• Management of the five key focus areas of the Development Department and of the Pepsi ICC Development Programme which are;
1. Regional Development Programmes
2. High Performance Programme
3. Development Events
4. Women’s Cricket Development
5. Member Compliance;
• Managing a budget of approx USD 30 million per annum;
• Management of the ICC Development Committee, Women’s Committee, Associate & Affiliates’ Committee and relevant Annual Conference meetings; attend Executive Board and Chief Executives’ Committee as required;
• Manage and maintain up-to-date cricket research information spanning all 95 Associate & Affiliate Members;
• Manage the balance between the aspirations and abilities of the Affiliates and Associate members vis-à-vis the Full Members;
• Implement and maintain an effective communication plan with all Members and stakeholders; build and develop an effective and positive network in order to facilitate excellent communications and outcomes; and
• Responsible for the roll-out and successful implementation of the ICC Developing Cricket World Funding Policy and the ICC Associate & Affiliate Membership Criteria processes in consultation with various Committees.

The GDM has 6 direct reports based in Dubai and is also responsible for 23 staff based in the regional Offices in Americas (Toronto, Canada), Africa (Benoni, South Africa), Asia (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), East Asia - Pacific (Melbourne, Australia) and Europe (London, England).

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Business degree in a relevant discipline
• Outstanding financial management capabilities; attention to detail
• An appreciation of representative governance structures
• Experienced in working through unique and complex situations often affecting numerous and diverse stakeholders with conflicting views and interests
• Extensive experience working with different cultures; cultural sensitivities and business relations
• At least 4-5 years of proven experience at a similar level of management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as experience of Committee management
• An in depth knowledge of cricket development and/or sports development generally

• Scorers must supply their own transport and laptop with Wireless Internet connection, however an allowance is paid per match towards this.

• Some regional travel may be required, but in those instances all travel expenses will be covered.

Based out of the Cricket NSW office in Dubbo and reporting to the Executive Officer, Country Cricket, the primary objective of this position is to plan and implement programs which facilitate the development of cricket in the Western region of country NSW, encompassing all forms of the game, from grassroots to representative, involving male, female and indigenous cricketers.

Effective leadership, management and interpersonal skills will allow you to build strong stakeholder relationships along with successfully managing a large pool of casual staff members. Your demonstrated understanding of community participation in sport, including volunteer management, will be essential to success in this position. A team player, you will also possess strong administrative and time management skills, ability to multi-task and advanced computer skills.

A passion for sport is a given and a knowledge of cricket is required - as a minimum you will have Level One Cricket Coaching Accreditation. • Medium to high level digital video editing experience (preferably with AVID);

• A team sports background with experience in dealing with high profile elite sportsmen/women;

The selected Australian Youth Ambassador will assist any full and/or part-time staff, as well as the Board of the National Cricket Body to improve and increase its capacity to develop cricket in that country at all levels. This could focus on any or all of administration, planning, finance & income generation, coaching & cricket education, junior/schools programs, facilities development, cricket competitions and promotion & publicity.

Applicants will ideally have work experience in a coaching, sports management, development, event management or similar role with a national, state, government, or other type of sporting organisation within Australia, with a key emphasis on cricket.

Applicants will be self-motivated with a high level of enthusiasm and a proven ability to make things happen. The applicant will ideally also have any or all of the following;

• an understanding of organised sport (in particular cricket)
• administrative and communication/computer skills
• an understanding of financial management
• qualifications and/or experience in the relevant areas set out in the job description
• some teaching and/or coaching experience is preferred but not essential

Applicants will need to demonstrate an ability to work well in a team environment and understand cultural differences associated with working in another country/environment. A key challenge will be to have the ability to motivate and inspire all cricket workers, volunteers and stakeholders within the country. An understanding and recognition of the fact that people power can make a real contribution to development as opposed to cash funding, which is limited and difficult to obtain for the sport in most ICC Associate & Affiliate Member cricket countries.

The AYAD Program provides full support to cover the costs associated with volunteering overseas including; pre-departure medicals, insurance, travel, living allowance and the support of a dedicated in-country manager.
